Care Quality Commission (CQC)
Each of Westminster Homecare’s branches is registered with the CQC. This is the regulatory body for home support providers, and ensures that high quality services are delivered and maintained through robust processes and procedures.
All of our branches are regularly monitored by the CQC, and a copy of the registration for each branch along with the most recent inspection report is available on their website.
United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA)
Westminster Homecare is a member of the UKHCA, the national professional association for home care providers. Our Managing Director, Sushil Radia, was a non-executive Director of the UKHCA up to 2012.
QMS Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2000
ISO 9001:2008 is the International Standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS) to which Westminster Homecare initially gained accreditation in September 2007. The Standard provides a set of principles that ensure a common sense approach to the management of our business activities to consistently achieve customer satisfaction.
QMS Quality Management Systems ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001 is the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and is the most widely used EMS in the world. Westminster Homecare initially gained accreditation to this Standard in October 2007. The Standard specifies the requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an EMS to help drive the improvements in overall environmental performance.
Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS)
CHAS in a Health and Safety accreditation scheme, that maintains a national database of providers who have been through a health and safety assessment, and have demonstrated adequate compliance with important aspects of health and safety law. Westminster Homecare maintains annual accreditation to CHAS.
Integrated Care Council (formerly National Homecare Council)
The Integrated Care Council is a body which brings together British public and independent sector organisations who commission or directly provide support for people living at home.
As members of the ICC, Westminster Homecare has access to a UK-wide network of advice and support that promotes quality in the commissioning and provision of services that support people at home.
The Social Care Commitment
The Social Care Commitment is the adult social care sector’s promise to provide people who need care and support with high quality services. Making the commitment involves agreeing to the seven statements and selecting tasks to help put those statements into practice. Tasks cover activities such as recruiting the right staff, having a thorough induction, ensuring a strong culture that values dignity and respect and effective communication. Westminster Homecare signed up to the Social Care Commitment in July 2015 and will be working on putting the statements into practice during the coming 12 months.
